Annabel Pribelszki, also known as Annabelszki, had a cracking opener at this year’s Brighton Fringe. And she’s taking on this weekend with the remainder of her solo comedy dates for brand-new show, Smashing.
She’s asking, can one woman single-handedly smash the hetero-patriarchy?
Well, maybe she can… with a little help from the audience!
After her riotous 2018 show, Professional Breakup Artist, expect a lot from Smashing – a queer, feminist and irreverent exploration of contemporary society.
A one-woman feminist cabaret, with hilarious myth-busting about female beauty, body hair, menstruation, patriarchy smashing, the gender pay gap, male violence against women and challenging heteronormativity. Phew!
Expect sketch comedy, spoken word, audience interaction, as Annabelszki invites the audience to gaze through an alternative lens upon an irreverent journey through life in a patriarchal society.
The show is aimed to engage an 18+ audience, as it contains references to male violence against women and sexual themes.
Smashing is at Exeter Street Hall from Sat 11 – Sun 12 May at 7pm (running time 60 mins).
2019 dates include Royal Vauxhall Tavern London 21 June, LFest Llandudno (the UK’s biggest lesbian festival) 20 July and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, August.
