International award-winning drag king, Sammy Silver, brings back his popular show Sass, Sex & Surrealness to Brighton Fringe in 2019, bigger and better than before.
Having received The Pebble Trust Award at Brighton Fringe 2018 for the premiere of Sass, Sex and Surrealness, Sammy has been working on the show to freshen it up for a new audience.
The cabaret show sees drag king Sammy Silver explore the highs and lows of the trans queer experience through musical comedy, lip-syncs, dance, video and much more alongside the help (and hindrance) of his twin sibling, Sally.
The show is written, directed and stars Sam Paskins, a queer trans man, whose alter ego King Sammy Silver has performed on the cabaret scene for the past 5 years. He graduated with a first in BA(Hons) Acting from Bath Spa University in 2014 and has always had a passion to be on stage. He has performed all over the UK and internationally in places such as Berlin, Amsterdam, New York and Austin.
Sam who has written and directed the show said, “There’s something extremely liberating about being my true authentic self on stage. Putting together this show has made me so proud to be trans, to be queer and I just want to take this show all over the place, so others can feel that liberation I do.”
Sass, Sex & Surrealness will be taking place at The Warren: Nest for five nights (3rd-5th May & 23th-24th May). The show features upbeat live vocals, crazy dance routines, video sketches and sparkly sequins.
