Brighton and Hove LGBTQ Switchboard have launched their Christmas giving campaign in order to encourage members of the community, and their allies, to donate to them during the festive period.

Switchboard are an LGBTQ charity who have been supporting the community in Brighton and Hove for more than forty years. In order to continue their work and the vital services they provide Switchboard relies on community funds to keep them going. By donating you will help support Switchboard’s year round work to reduce social isolation, improve mental wellbeing and offer a listening ear to LGBTQ people in Brighton and Hove.

In the spirit of Christmas and the season of giving we’re asking members of the community, and allies, to give to Switchboard this Christmas. Your symbolic gift to us will be used to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community all year round. We would really appreciate donations of any amount – no donation is too big or too small! – Daniel Cheesman, Switchboard CEO

It has been the first time that someone has really listened to me and I feel so much better for calling you. You’ve really helped me and restored my faith in the community. – Helpline caller

You can make a donation to Switchboard through VirginMoney, either as a one-off donation or as a monthly payment. By setting up a monthly payment you will be making a commitment to the longevity of Switchboard through regular donations. You can make a donation right now using your debit or credit card, or using PayPal, and if you are a UK Taxpayer, you can Gift Aid it and make your donation go further.

You can also donate by text. Simply text LGBTQ, followed by the number of the amount you wish to donate (e.g. “LGBTQ 10” to donate £10) to 70085.
