“Let’s feel the anger together, cause there’s nothing better than having your feelings validated rather than silenced.”
There has been some seriously messed up stuff happening in the world recently, and with it, an international cry of disbelief and rage. What we could all do with is a big blow out, channel some of that fury onto the dance floor, all the while surrounded by like-minded queer beauties. Fortunately, Traumfrau are here to help. A split evening of queer party and queer fury, The Anger Party comes to Dead Wax Social on Fri 6 Oct.
True to the venue’s ethos the night will see fierce, vinyl-only DJs all night long. Featuring the likes of London’s Varla Spitz, here to pump out some big city riot grrrl and female-fronted tunes, from psych and garage-rock to electro, music to shuffle, pogo and step to; Bar Wotever’s legendary DJ Vicki Lester playing eclectic mix of all things dancefloor, alternative, rock and pop, electro, jump blues, and hip-hop, so you can dance out your rage in style.
Letting you know it’s ok to be angry, there’s even going to be a Rage Ring so you can practice punching austerity, and Donald Trump in the face. Expect boxing gloves and down the clown, black holes to shout into, and spells. A playground for adults, work out all of your queer political frustration. Throw things, hit things, scream things and battle all of your demons.
If that’s not enough, the dress code for the night is to look menacing as you can. Dig out your old karate uniform, dress up as your arch nemesis, don a Theresa May mask or come as a banker – the latter two ideas are very much at your own risk. Start planning your outfit now and get advance tickets to avoid the queue.
Tickets are selling fast so get yours before it’s too late!
Traumfrau’s The Anger Party is at Dead Wax Social on Fri 6 Oct, 10pm – 3am
